On 27th August we captured Shannelle and Andrew’s special day at Somerford Hall in Brewood. We have photographed quite a few beautiful Palladian and Georgian venues this year and Somerford Hall is another venue to add to that list! Built in the 1700s, this mansion is full of charm and character with multiple functional rooms and sitting areas with hallways that all allow you to flow easily from one room into the next. The Hall is located in Brewood, Stafford and is a prime spot for surrounding areas such as Birmingham, Lichfield and Shropshire as it has easy access to the M54 and the M6. Somerford Hall sits on 200 acres of landscape. There is a fair sized patio area with chairs and tables and a white pavilion out on the lawns with plenty of space for guests to spread out.
The bridal suit upstairs was a characterful room with a large four-poster bed, very in-keeping with the Georgian theme and included a stunning fireplace with a mantel piece, polished wooden floorboards and large, ceiling height windows. The quaint window seats beneath them overlooked the lawn outside where white chairs had been decorated and placed in rows for the ceremony.
There were a further two other rooms that lead off from the bridal suit. A large bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and plenty of natural light for Shannelle to have her makeup done. The other room included a vanity dressing table and a floor length mirror. Shannelle and her bridesmaids had their hair styled in this room before Shannelle eventually changed into her elegant wedding dress; an ivory, off-shoulder satin dress.
We also photographed the groom and groomsmen as they prepared in the room below and then took a couple of quick group photos outside before they begun welcoming guests as they arrived. Andy wore his very smart military uniform with his hat, white gloves and sword!
Shannelle and Andrew had their wedding ceremony outside on the lawns in front of the pavilion which faces back towards the hall, showcasing a beautiful view behind as they walk down the aisle. We also captured a confetti shot once Shanelle and Andrew had walked down the aisle together before moving on to group photos.
One of our favourite moments from the day was when all the guests stood after the speeches to sing Bohemian Rhapsody together as the pianist accompanied them.
