A stunning grade II listed Georgian mansion, originally built in the 11th century. The home of the Byron family for over a century and a half, Colwick Hall features a spacious high ceiling hall with tall windows allowing plenty of natural light to spill in. The Hall looks out onto a whopping 60 acres of beautiful green parklands and yet is under 3 miles away from the heart of Nottingham city.
If you’re searching for a wedding venue that has plenty of natural light, is full of aesthetic Georgian character, features symmetrical grand staircases, white marble fireplaces, rooms with four-poster beds, stand alone bath tubs, portrait paintings in gold gilt frames and possibly one of the largest bridal suit rooms we’ve ever photographed in, then Colwick Hall may be a good option for your special day!
The Hall was decorated with an arch of pink and white flowers and rows of chairs gracefully wrapped with white netted lace and blue roses. And nothing screams romantic and dreamy like the ceiling that showcases a blue sky with softly painted clouds and white doves.
Laura and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done in the Lord Byron Suit upstairs while Groom prep took place at their home in Nottingham.
The wedding ceremony was followed by drinks in the bar area and out on the parklands behind the Hall where guests could have a chat before group photos. With Mike having lived in America for some time playing football, it was lovely to see some of their American friends who had come over to celebrate their special day with them.
Mike and Laura also hired a guitarist and singer to play some songs for the guests between the ceremony and wedding breakfast. They also had one of their friends who was a Magician entertain their guests with some nifty card tricks during the evening.
The sun was shining from start to finish and we had an amazing time photographing their wedding day as it unfolded.
