Bluntwood Hall’s Milling Barn is a stunning and picturesque wedding venue nestled in a charming rural village in North Hertfordshire. This restored 17th-century oak barn is surrounded by idyllic countryside, creating the perfect cozy and romantic atmosphere for Megan & Jake’s special day.
We arrived early to take a stroll and capture the vibe and essence of the venue and met with Megan and the bridal party in the bridal suite. The room was light and spacious, with plenty of mirrors, natural light, and French doors that open out onto a private patio seating area, particularly ideal for capturing the necessary detail photographs. There was plenty of laughter and happy tears from the bridesmaids, already creating a happy tone for the wonderful day ahead.
Despite the rainy start to the day, the weather was cool but comfortable and things dried up just in time for the confetti and group photos. The outdoor space at Bluntwood Hall was a great spot for guests to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. The tall archway entwined in leaves and fairy lights also made the perfect spot for group photos and sparkler photos in the evening.
Inside the Milling Barn, the ambiance was beautifully warm and rustic, with exposed timber beams and two large candle-lit chandeliers hanging from the ceiling above the aisle.
We enjoyed delicious food from the in-house catering team, The Chopping Block, before capturing guests’ reactions during the heartfelt and humorous speeches.
To top off a perfect day, we were blessed with a stunning sunset for Megan and Jake’s couple portraits! As our first wedding of 2023, it was a lovely experience and a great start to the new season. The day ran smoothly and the mood throughout was very relaxed and full of happy smiles and laughter.
