Wow, what a year! 2024 has officially been our busiest year yet, with 38 weddings captured, 5 second-shooting adventures with fellow photographers, and countless unforgettable moments along the way. It’s been a whirlwind of laughter, challenges, and a whole lot of love, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
This year, we didn’t just grow as photographers—we became better business owners, making meaningful improvements to how we run our little corner of the wedding world. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights, challenges, and incredible memories that made 2024 so special for us!
We kicked off the year with our first wedding in February, and by the end of March, the season was in full swing. One of the biggest personal highlights was finally getting to photograph not one but two weddings at one of our all-time favourite venues—once in March and again in September!
The year also brought a mix of exciting new locations and familiar favourites. We found ourselves travelling far and wide across the UK, shooting in Birmingham, the Cotswolds, Stoke-on-Trent, Daventry, Kent, Derby, Coventry, Warwickshire, and beyond. Some standout venues included South Farm, Shustoke Barn, Cranford Hall, Bourton Hall and Coombe Abbey. From elegant black-tie affairs to fun Disney, Harry Potter, and Pokémon-themed celebrations, the creativity we witnessed was incredible.
One of the highlights of 2024 was working alongside some truly amazing wedding suppliers. From talented florists to skilled toastmasters, each brought something special to the weddings we captured. It’s always such a pleasure working alongside suppliers who are as passionate about their craft as we are. A huge thank you to everyone who made our 2024 weddings so spectacular—you’re all amazing!
If there’s one thing we’ll remember about 2024, it’s the rain! We shot more rainy weddings than dry ones this year. From summer showers in July to windstorms in November, the weather definitely kept us on our toes! But every single couple we worked with took it all in stride, proving that a bit of rain (or a lot!) can’t dampen the magic of their day. And honestly, some of our favourite creative portraits have come from stormy, rainy skies and warm, cosy, indoor moments.
This year, we definitely saw some particular trends emerge:
• Sage green stole the spotlight as the most popular wedding colour this year, closely followed by baby blue.
• Sweetheart tables were a big hit, replacing the traditional top table setup.
• Bridgerton-inspired music added a romantic touch to ceremonies, while upbeat country-pop hits like “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and “Pour Me a Drink” became favourites on the dance floor!
• Polaroid and Instax cameras were literally everywhere, giving guests a nostalgic way to capture their own candid moments. We don’t think there was single wedding that didn’t have one laying around somewhere!
• The fashion choices were bold and vibrant, with guests rocking hot pinks, yellows, and, of course… sage green!
We also had the joy of photographing three brides who made a statement with stunning black wedding dresses in November!
We’re so proud that one of our amazing couples nominated us for the Wedding Photographer of the Year awards. While we chose not to enter officially, the nomination itself was a huge honour and a reminder of why we love what we do.
This year brought plenty of moments that melted our hearts, from emotional speeches that brought us to tears to seeing some of our past couples start their families and introduce their new little ones. We’ve truly been spoiled with incredible feedback from our couples this year, and here are just a few comments that mean the world to us:
“Nat & Lizzy… not just phenomenal photographers, but wonderful people too! You made our wedding day so special and put us at ease. The day ran so smoothly, and you were open to trying any challenges we threw at you!”
“Wow, these guys are amazing. From start to finish they worked so hard and did not stop all day to ensure we got the most perfect pictures. Our guests commented on how great they were, and they also love our photos!”
Reading words like these reminds us why we do what we do. Thank you to every couple who trusted us to capture your memories this year!
As we wrap up 2024, we’re already looking forward to what 2025 has in store. With some truly unique weddings on the horizon (weddings in castles and caves!), a return to some of our favourite venues, and more adventures with amazing couples, we can’t wait to see where the next year takes us.
